Lenten Message of His Excellency Bishop Aldo Berardi
Feast of Immaculate Conception 2025
The Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia joyfully celebrated the Feast of the Immaculate Conception with great devotion and reverence. The Mass was solemnly presided over by Bishop Aldo Berardi, whose homily reflected the profound grace and purity of Our Blessed Mother. The faithful gathered in large numbers, uniting in prayer and thanksgiving on this significant feast of the Church.
Meeting with Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni
During her official visit to Bahrain, Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni made a special stop at Our Lady of Arabia Cathedral in Awali. She was accompanied by H.E. Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Bishop Aldo Berardi, and representatives from the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance. The visit highlighted the strong bonds of friendship between the two nations and underscored Bahrain’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, dialogue, and mutual respect among all communities.
Handing on the Faith Ceremony
On 31st October, during the 10:00 AM Holy Mass, the students of Grade 7 celebrated the beautiful and meaningful Handing on the Faith Ceremony, with Fr. Saji Thomas as the celebrant. This special liturgical moment highlighted the sacred responsibility of parents as the primary faith educators of their children. In a touching gesture, parents symbolically handed on their faith to their children, promising to guide them with love, prayer, and example. All students and parents participated wholeheartedly, making it a memorable and spiritually enriching experience.
Catechetical Year Catechists' Renewal
The Catechism Ministry came together in faith and unity for the Annual Catechetical Year Renewal, held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia. The renewal was beautifully celebrated during the 10:00 AM Holy Mass, with Rev. Fr. Saji Thomas OFM Cap as the main celebrant. During the Mass, Fr. Saji invoked God’s blessings upon all our catechists, encouraging us to continue our mission with passion, humility, and dedication. Through prayer and reflection, we renewed our commitment to nurturing the faith of the children entrusted to our care. This gathering also served as a moment of fellowship and inspiration, strengthening the bond among our catechists as we begin a new catechetical year. With hearts renewed and guided by the Holy Spirit, we look forward to serving with joy and devotion. May Our Lady of Arabia intercede for us and bless our ministry abundantly.

The celebration concluded with a delicious lunch, offering a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and shared joy.

On the blessed morning of May 23rd, 2025, at 10:45 AM, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia in Awali witnessed a sacred and joyful occasion. Surrounded by their families, friends, and faith community, 64 children from the Ministry of Catechists received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion a profound step in their spiritual journey.
